  I stayed here for two nights, and was pretty satisfied with the value for the price, which, with the CAA discount is a steal. The building itself, while absolutely hideous from the outside, is quite nice inside. It's incorporated into a low-rise office complex and the "Atrium Cafe" inside is beautiful, and the Lionshead Pub provides decent night-time food and entertainment... If you can get past the 1970's geometric concrete design outside, beyond the doors is quite nice. Desk service was very friendly and accommodating, and housekeeping/roomservice were good.
  
  Be wary of the "high speed internet access" however, there is no wireless connection (only a retractable network cable) and "high speed" is a bit of an overstatement. Not much faster than 1990s dial-up. As far as the location goes, its right on Gateway Ave, which leads directly north into the downtown core, about a 15 minute drive in moderate traffic. The hotel is located in the sprawling commercial plazas of Edmonton South, next to a Labatt Brewery, so the air outside can smell downright awful if the wind is right, and there's not much to look at.
  
  Overall a nice stay once you're in the doors, but the outside and surrounding area leave me to look for other options next time.
  
  Considering the absolute bargain price, however, 7/10.

  Rooms are large and clean, however mattress in room 444 made for 3 unsleepable nights and severe back problems. after 3 nights was eventually able to move to a room ...

  Rooms are large and clean, however mattress in room 444 made for 3 unsleepable nights and severe back problems. After 3 nights was eventually able to move to a room that was fine.
  Other problem was housekeeping. One day left hotel with make up room sign on door at nine in the morning and returned at 3:30 p.m. and room was still not made up. On day I changed rooms, I vacated my room at 11:30 a.m. and returned at 10:00 p.m. to find new room not made up from previous guests.
